2021 Updates: New year, new beginnings!

Despite the challenges last year brought, we are hopeful and excited for 2021! Looking back at 2020, Keep Oakland Beautiful had to adjust like everyone else but we are so inspired by the way we saw our community come together to keep Oakland clean and beautiful but also to support each other in staying safe and healthy.

We have lots of exciting things to look forward to this year. Just to name a few...

• Small grant applications are now open! The KOB Small Grant Program is one of our major projects for the year. We give out 10+ small grants of up to $800 every year to support projects that keep Oakland beautiful and clean. We are excited to see what creative ideas you have! Past successful grant projects include planting trees, shrubs, flowers, community gardens;  park and open space clean-up and beautification; and graffiti removal and murals. • Fresh faces and new ideas (new board members)! This year we have 11 new board members that we are excited to welcome to the team. They bring a wide variety of experience and ideas but most importantly all are passionate about getting involved in keeping Oakland beautiful. Learn more about our board members on our website.
• ​Spring is coming! Outdoor community spaces are more important than ever and spring in Oakland means parks are green, flowers are blooming, the sun is shining. There’s no better time to enjoy the outdoors and find safe ways to get involved in our community.
