2009 Spring Bulbs
The Keep Oakland Beautiful Board is proud to announce its sixth annual bulb planting event. Many volunteers requested a change in the type and color of the bulbs and we heard you. This year we will be providing free multi-colored freesia bulbs, which are much smaller than the daffodil bulbs. Freesias are very fragrant and over time will naturalize just like the daffodils. Due to the economic climate, we have purchased half the amount of bulbs as compared to prior years. Thus, each adopter will be limited in the number available. We are looking forward to the look and smell of these beautiful flowers when they bloom next spring. Happy planting!
Imagine 25,000 fragrant freesias blooming all over Oakland…
